This position is responsible for a broad range of
maintenance activities that are performed to keep a UPS package
handling facility operating efficiently and effectively.
Major work activities for this position include
(but not limited to):
Troubleshooting, adjusting, repairing and/or
replacing AC and DC electrical equipment such as batteries,
control stations, fuses, motor starters, relays, switches, timers,
servo driven equipment, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs),
photo electrical devices, transducers, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
and encoders. Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or
replacing mechanical components such as motors, reducers, drive
chains, sprockets, polychain belts, sheaves, pulleys, rollers,
conveyor belts, bearings, and transfer plates. Inspecting,
troubleshooting, repairing, and/or replacing pneumatic equipment
such as diverters, air compressors, lubricators, hoses, valves,
piping and coils. Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing
and/or replacing hydraulic equipment such as hoses, fittings,
cylinders, and pumps. Welding, fabricating and cutting
equipment such as hand rails, conveyor supports, package handling
equipment, carts, and grading. Performing preventive
maintenance inspections of plant equipment such as conveyors, bulk
carts, and power industrial equipment.
Basic Qualifications
Applicants must have at least
2 years of related work
experience in the following areas: Troubleshooting,
adjusting, repairing and replacing AC electrical equipment.
Troubleshooting, adjusting, repairing and replacing
DC electrical equipment.
Troubleshooting, repairing, and/or replacing mechanical
components.
Work
that has required the majority of the following general
maintenance activities:
Performing measurements using linear or surface measuring tools
(e.g., calipers, laser levels, gauges).
Performing measurements using electrical measuring equipment
(e.g., amp meters, voltmeters, ohmmeters). Reading
blueprints and schematics. Reading
technical manuals and information such as manufacturer’s
documentation and guidelines. Using
hand tools.
Using
power tools. Using
rigging equipment. Using
basic math (e.g., adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing).
Basic Safety Knowledge. Ability
to work with people on a daily basis.
