William W. Winpisinger Education & Technology Center
As we
enter the new century, the only way to keep up with change is with
education. The William W. Winpisinger Education and Technology Center
is the IAM's most visible sign of our commitment to provide a world
class educational facility to train future IAM leaders.
The Winpisinger Center teaches what it
is to be a trade unionist. By studying labor history and the role
unions play in our society, students learn that unions are more than
service organizations. We are part of a larger movement toward
economic and social justice with dignity on the job.
IAM National Pension Fund
As an I.A.M. member, you know
that strength lies in numbers. The same holds true for the National
Pension Plan. Our strength lies in these numbers:
- Over 1,750
contributing employers
- Over 68,000 retirees and
beneficiaries
- 75,000 participating members
- $7 billion in net assets
Our numbers are strong and they keep
growing stronger . . . growing to give you a more secure financial
future, both tomorrow and well into the 21st Century.
Employment Services Department
The IAMAW’s Department of
Employment Services is a newly formed department of the International
established by the Executive Council to provide employment-related
information to IAM districts, locals and members. The new department
will offer to administer an independent
temporary and/or permanent major medical insurance program to help
as many of our dislocated members and their families as possible. For
information on the medical insurance program, call 888.521.2900
The second phase of this mission will
be to work with the districts and locals to create a job information
bank offering gainful employment opportunities. For further
information contact Tony L. Chapman, Director, or Joanne Chaney at:
301-967-4717 or by
e-mail at:

IAMjobhelper.com
Due to the ever changing economy, the IAM
Midwest Territory created the IAM job helper to assist both
out-of-work union members and non-union members, in building their
careers, surviving a layoff, finding a job, and having the security of
union representation.
