Standard Automotive Agreement Proposals Meeting

SAA_ContractThe Standard Automotive Agreement, along with many other related Dealership Agreements, is going to expire July 31, 2017.   In preparation to negotiate the new contract Local 701 has already held several Delegates Meetings to discuss both our strategy moving forward and the most common issues the membership would like to see addressed during bargaining.

The next step in preparing to bargain the new agreement is to hold a proposal meeting with the entire membership covered by The Standard Automotive Agreement and the other related Dealership Agreements.  This meeting is scheduled for Sunday, February 26, 2017 at 9:00 am at the Local 150 Operating Engineers Union Hall located at 6200 Joliet Rd Countryside, IL.  See map below.

Only members who are covered under the Standard Automotive Agreement or other related Dealership Agreements will be admitted and allowed to attend this meeting. “Other Related Dealership Agreements” are typically non Standard Automotive Agreement dealership contracts with an expiration date of July 31, 2017 or shortly thereafter.  If unsure, please contact your Business Agent.

To ensure an attendees eligibility to participate in the meeting, all members will need to be checked in prior to the start of the meeting.  As such, members are requested to arrive before 9:00 am to get checked in.  Since the check-in process can be time-consuming, the doors will be open at 8:00 am and members are encouraged to arrive and check-in as early as possible so that the meeting can start on time.

In preparation for this meeting members are asked to take some time and think about what changes you would like to see in the next contract and make sure that everyone in the shop is aware of this meeting.  If there is not already a meeting notification posted in your shop, please click HERE to download one and hang it up and/or distribute a copy to everyone in the shop.  If you have any questions, please contact your Business Agent.

“As your representatives, the single most important thing we do for you and your family is bargain your contract.  Our success or failure here can effect us as well as our Industry for years to come. Your involvement is imperative to everyone’s success” said Directing Business Representative, Sam Cicinelli.
