Out of Work because of

Layoff, Termination, Disability or on Workers Compensation?

If you are out of work because of a layoff, termination, accident or injury, whether it happened on the job or off the job, you do not have to pay full Union dues. You must call the bookkeeper that handles your shop and pay $2.00 per month. If you mail your payment in, please make the check payable to Local 701 and put the current month's dues that you are paying for on the check. Place your check in the mail by the fifteenth (15th) of the current month to allow for mail delivery.

Here is the list of the Union clerks that would be happy to make sure your membership does not lapse.

What happens if I do not follow the above procedure?

Members who are out of work for ANY reason above and that do not pay the $2.00 per month fee, are subject to pay reinstatement fees after being dropped by the I.A.M.

Currently 3X times the current dues or 6X times the current dues depending on your classification.

Failure to pay Union dues for two consecutive months at any time, can result in a loss of membership also causing payment of another initiation fee.

Note: The second page of your I.A.M. dues book (little black book) explains in detail the I.A.M.'s policy on delinquency's.
